Trap teams.
No, we aren't talking about catching critters. We're talking about shotguns and sporting clay.
Every year many students from across Arkansas join their local trap team with ambitions to win the state tournament.
On Friday Sheridan juniors shot their way into the finals against the Nashville Scrappers at the AGFC Jacksonville Shooting Sports Facility.

Sheridan took the junior tournament in a well-deserved victory.
The team consists of Braden Bridges, Luke Douthit, Drake Wafford, Landon Garrison, and Jayson Lott. They are coached by Clayton Lott.
Wafford shot 2 rounds with a perfect score of 25/25 during today's event. A major accomplishment for any shooter during a tournament!

Sheridan's Landon Garrison also shot 25 back-to-back in today's tournament.
[Editor's note: Unfortunately, during the team's excitement apparently no one took Garrison's photo when he received his award for the accomplishment. (If someone did, let us know!)]
Ah-ha! Garrison's mom sent us a photo after we published the story!

Friday marked a major accomplishment for the Sheridan trap team with its team members winning the state championship.

Senior divisions will compete Saturday at the AGFC Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.
Sheridan's junior team has set the bar high for Sheridan seniors.
We congratulate all the participants in today's tournament!
Way to go, Sheridan!
