Earlier this year, Omari Artyce Coats reached a plea agreement in Grant County concerning a rape charge and several other counts filed in 2024.
The charges stemmed from an incident that rocked a Sheridan neighborhood in the summer of 2024. (Read more in the story below.)

Coats is a repeat offender and now he may be going to prison.
Grant County Prosecuting Attorney Teresa Howell filed a petition to revoke Coat's probation on Nov. 26.
In the court filing she wrote that the Adult Probation Department notified her office that Coats violated the terms of his probated sentence. She asked for a bench warrant to arrest Coats and that his supervised probation be revoked. Howell also asked that a "Judgment and Commitment Order be issued herein committing said defendant to the Arkansas Department of Correction to serve the full sentence."
That same day a bench warrant was issued in Grant County Circuit Court for Coates on probation revocation for four original charges stemming from the 2024 incident. Those four charges are 1 count of rape, a Class Y felony; 1 count of residential burglary, Class B felony; 1 count of theft of property >$1,000 but =<$5,000, Class D felony; and 1 count of domestic battery in the third degree, Class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 1, a court document was filed Grant County asking that the superintendent of the Saline County jail transport Coats to Grant County on Dec. 10 for a hearing. However, another document, filed Dec. 5, shows Coats' hearing set for Jan. 14, 2026, in Grant County.
Coat's bond is set at $250,000, according to court documents.
On Dec. 5, a No Contact order was signed by Circuit Judge Stephen Shirron for Coats to have no contact his victim.
No other stipulations such as immediately leaving and staying away from the victim's residence or apartment complex or for Coats not to have possession of any weapons were checked on the court document by Shirron.
On Saturday, the Sheridan Detention Center jail roster showed Coats was in custody in Grant County. He was booked into the jail on Dec. 4.
