Bryan Malinowski Dead, Family Hires Bud Cummins
Who is Cummins? What are Cummins' state and national political connections? And Ukraine, too?
Bryan Malinowski, the executive director of the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, died Thursday from gunshot injuries in an early morning raid Tuesday at his Little Rock house.
In multiple news interviews Wednesday, Malinowski’s brother questioned the actions of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Recap of some of the fast-paced Malinowski events (possibly not in this exact order because of how quickly events occurred):
Malinowski dies.
The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas unseals the federal search warrant.
Malinowski owned guns. A lot of them. He sold some guns to people who should not own guns, according to rumors.
The Malinowski family hires Bud Cummins. See the news release below.
Cummins? An intriguing choice
Cummins actually served as U.S. Attorney for five years from 2001-2006. Where? The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
So he obviously knows how things work.
In 1996, Cummins ran as a Republican candidate for Arkansas' 2nd congressional district (that’s the Little Rock area and beyond). Cummins lost – barely – to Democrat Vic Snyder. Republican French Hill now holds that seat.
Later, Cummins served as Gov. Mike Huckabee's chief legal counsel. That's right. Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders’ dad.
