Someone mentioned the Deep State to me the other day.

This person did so in an accusatory manner as if I thought their organization was part of a Deep State.

I wondered immediately, well, now that you brought it up, are you Deep State? Are you trying to gaslight me or did it just slip out of your mouth accidentally in the heat of an argument?
