We usually send these newsletters on Saturday, but we are obviously late because of … we blame the constant hum of cicadas in South Arkansas.
No, seriously we have been going non-stop with interviews and investigations with a timeout to celebrate Suzi's birthday.
But we wanted to send this newsletter anyway.
First, Sheridan School District has a new superintendent, Chad Pitts. The Sheridan School Board hired him in last night's board meeting. He has been the school's assistant superintendent for a minute. Hopefully, he can fix some of the problems we have reported previously. 👀
Last Friday, Suzi passed by this sign in Pine Bluff at Bryant Paint & Carpet on Olive Street. Of course, Suzi had to stop and visit and talk for three days, as Richard says, just to see what that color was because she is always curious. 🎨
What is that color? There you have it. Nice for a … we're thinking. Thoughts?
Moving on…
Did y'all see the Northern Lights? That's complete twilight zone for South Arkansas. We spotted this on Facebook and think Lewis Auction Co., in Kentucky. is spot on for South Arkansas.
Hey, Malvern city officials, you have a problem.
And so does Jefferson County. Can potholes turn in to swimming pools?
This isn't weird but just a shout-out. If you get a minute, check out the Facebook page of First Ward Living Grace Food Pantry on Commerce Road. Debra Strickland Allen is doing good work on the East Side of Pine Bluff.
Since this newsletter is also a bit of roundup, we wanted to share a couple of our posts you may have missed.
And this one:
Back to the really weird. Does anyone have one of these in their yard? Creepy or cool? 🧙♀️
We will leave y'all with a bit of humor as we go back to investigating corruption and cover-ups. Don't be offended. We have to laugh at something.
Oh wait, we forgot to mention the latest foodie trend!
Until next week, we mean this Saturday, keep sharing our work with your friends and consider a paid subscription so you can read all of our stories and access the archives! A paid subscription is only $6 a month or $60 a year.
See something odd and curious or know something we should check out? Drop it to us at: southarkansasreckoning@proton.me.
The hum where we are never ends!
One of my cats attempted to eat one today! I killed it.
The paint looks better in person. But I like really dark or bright.
We got like maybe two seconds of pink.
I'm disappointed by the lack of cicadas in Lonoke. I wanna hear what Thomas Jefferson did.
I ain't eating them though.
That Pashmina color looks like the same shade of brown they insist on painting the walls at work with.
Best I could see of the Northern Lights was a red tint. 3 second exposure on my phone brought it out to a redder tint.
