South Arkansas Reckoning obtained a letter from Arkansas Secretary of state John Thurston rejecting the petition to place abortion on the November ballot.

Thurston found that the group — Arkansans for Limited Government — did not submit a statement identifying paid canvassers by name or a signed statement showing that the paid canvassers were given a required handbook and explanations of state rules.

Gov. Sarah Sanders reposted Republican Rep. Ryan Rose of Van Buren on X and then she slammed those who supported the amendment.
