So many of you have been with us the past month. I felt obliged to share a precious moment from today.
I'd like to introduce you to Greg's radiation oncologist at The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Center at Duke. He has been actively treating Greg's new tumors. A true blessing. We not only met an expert in his field, we made a new friend.
Dr. Eugene Vaios. One of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. A true blessing in our lives. You can read more about Dr. Vaios here.
Today Greg met yet another milestone in his journey with cancer. He completed a key component of treatment. With his team by his side Greg rang the bell signaling to the world that he had finished the targeted radiation treatment.
We left The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center shortly after snapping a few pictures, headed home for Greg to recover and begin a new approach to treating this recurring issue with cancer.
For those who may have missed it, our family is no stranger to cancer. In fact, we have had very little down time between cancer occurrences in our immediate family since 2013. Read my previous story about Lynch syndrome and my family.
I will never be able to give enough thanks to all my friends and family, even complete strangers, who have contributed financially so that my son would be able to receive top level care from Duke University.
They are truly second to none when it comes to brain cancer research, treatment and care. I'm forever grateful.
As Greg and I made our way to the parking garage we stopped so we could share the sound of Hope one more time.
Bravo!
