Waste Management Sends Stern Letter To Jefferson Co. Officials

WM alleges failure to solicit formal bids, outstanding payments. County Judge files sanitation emergency.

Jefferson County Justices of the Peace received a letter Thursday from James Vernon, Public Sector Manager-Arkansas with Waste Management of Arkansas, Inc.

Vernon wrote: “These matters pertain to communications regarding a transition of solid waste collection services from WM to Lakeshore Recycling Systems ("LRS"), compliance with formal bidding requirements, and unresolved payments to WM for waste collection services previously provided.”
