Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, her husband, Bryan, and her three children are visiting France this week.
The Governor is in France this week to attend the Paris Air Show. Earlier this month, Sanders released the following statement:
"After the success of my first visit to the Paris Air Show in 2023 and Farnborough Airshow in 2024, during which we secured investments from aerospace and defense giants like Dassault Falcon Jet and RTX, I am excited that I will be representing Arkansas again this year. I will begin in Normandy, paying tribute to our fallen soldiers shortly after the 81st anniversary of D-Day, before continuing onto the Paris Air Show to meet with major aerospace and defense companies, and then concluding the trip in Switzerland to discuss investing in Arkansas with several large corporations. International trade missions are a great way to pitch Arkansas to companies that might not otherwise have our state on their radar and have a proven track record of bringing in jobs and investment.”
Indeed, she and her family are in France.
In a release Monday, her office stated:
"Over the weekend, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders with First Gentleman Bryan Sanders and their kids, visited the Normandy American Cemetery to lay a wreath at The Wall of the Missing in memory of Private Roger Dean Andrews and pay their respects to other fallen Arkansans."
Private Rodger Dean Andrews, a member of the U.S. Army's 37th Engineer Combat Battalion, was killed in action during the D-Day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. His remains were identified through DNA testing and were returned to his hometown of Gravette, Arkansas, where he was laid to rest with full military honors on June 9, 2025.
The release added: "While there, the Sanders family also visited the gravesites of Arkansas natives Lt. Col. Percy O. Forgy and Private Harold E. Sellers."

One of the posts was about Gage Wood, University of Arkansas pitcher, who made history when he pitched the first no-hitter at the College World Series since 1960.
The Sanders family recently attended a Razorback baseball game in Fayetteville where son, George, celebrated his birthday.
